We are happy to inform you that the 19th Annual Beacon Hill Art Walk will take place rain or shine on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from noon to 6:00 p.m. throughout the nooks and crannies of Beacon Hill's North Slope. Residents open up their private gardens, alleyways, and courtyards and allow artists to display and sell their artwork. It is a chance for visitors to tour the private spaces of Beacon Hill while viewing original artwork. Thousands of people attend each year. It is a free popular event in the neighborhood, with a festive atmosphere and volunteer musicians playing in various gardens during the event.
The Art Walk usually has around 100 participating artists, and we expect to add some new gardens this year and accept additional artists. We hope you will participate by displaying and selling your original artwork. As we did last year, we have reserved several indoor locations that will be ready to accept artists in case of rain. We hope, however, that the day will be bright and sunny.

IMPORTANT RULES / INFORMATION
All artwork MUST be original and handmade by you. No crafts, no jewelry. No mass produced versions of your art will be accepted (this rule holds for photography as well). No prints, giclees, or reproductions. No note cards of any kind.
New Artists will be accepted based on available locations and availability in their medium and subject matter. The number of photographers will be limited, and accepted based on the date application is received, type of photography, type of process and subject matter. This applies to returning photographers as well as new applicants, and this number will include mixed-media artists who manipulate photographs, whether digitally or manually. Photographers must describe their process.
There is a limited availability of spaces able to accommodate 10x10 tents and those will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. The same rule applies for spaces with fences to hang art work from. No guarantees can be offered in space assignments until the week before the event. No tents, tables, chairs, etc, will be provided. Setups are full responsibility of the artists.
SPREAD THE WORD...
We ask you to spread the word among your artist friends about this event. If they would like to participate, they can log onto www.beaconhillartwalk.org and download an application. Remember that this show is for artists with original work, not crafts people. Also, please spread the word about the Art Walk to the art lovers you know. We are also on the lookout for volunteers on the day of the Art Walk, and for committee members to help organize the event. Spread the word...
